Nuclear weapons were mentioned as harmful by several students. Nuclear power was mentioned less this year than any year I can remember. Are you surprised? Do people forget the earthquake, tsunami and nuclear power plant failure in Japan just six months ago?

ReplyDeleteI am not surprised that nuclear power was not mentioned a lot this year, because I think people don't want to mention the failures that nuclear power has caused, and that it might be a bit embarrassing to people, because it looks like the human race failed with this power source. I think that people do remember what happened in Japan, but it is just so horrible that many people don't want to talk about it, or think that it is just something horrible and could give people nightmares if it is talked about, but I don't think that it was forgotten.
I agree. I think the reason that it has been "forgotten" is because it is too embarrassing to "remember".
