Medicine and medical advances were equally named as both ways science has been helpful and harmful. Explain why this does or does not make sense to you.
I think medical science is about 90% right. I think that because people sure hope when they go to the doctors that what the doctor says is right but nobody is perfect so the doctor can be wrong. So I think about 10% of the time a doctor can be wrong.
I think that medical science is 90% right. And 10% wrong. I think that because you never know what the meds are going to do most of the time it will be right because it is scientifically proven to work.
I think that medical science is a good thing in general, but people abusing medicines to make illicit drugs and such is not a good thing. I think that if something could be used as an ingredient in such a drug that it should be available by prescription only and not just buyable. I also think that even though doctors may be wrong, it's usually the fault of the doctor not paying enough attention and not the fault of the medicine itself. However there are times when certain medicines can have harmful side effects that they don't know about when the medicine is distributed. That is a dangerous thing.
I think medical science is mostly right. It has found cures for polio and many other diseases that previously had been incurable. Also, it isn't really wrong most of the time unless people have a bad reaction to the medicine.
I think medical science is maybe 99% right. I think this because everybody who is actually a doctor is highly trained, and you can trust them. People may think that it's around 10% harmful because they hear about the bad cases where people die and things like that. What you don't hear about is how many people are saved by it. Kenny MP
Sarah B: I also think that medical science is helpful, since many people have been saved from diseases by medicines scientists have created. Medical science may be a bad thing because when scientists test their products on animals, they can be harmed.
I think medicine can be great and I agree that a majority of the time doctors prescribe the correct medicine. But the downsides of medicine is that it is destroying the concept of Natural selection. If everyone who is weakened by diseases that is genetic can be cured. Then they will reproduce children with the same disease (most likely because it is genetic.) Then eventually the disease will become stronger and resistant to the medicine. And the weak people will live and reproduce and pass on their weaknesses and this ultimately defeats natural selection.
